This decorated neckline of a tunic, in mixed plain weave and tapestry technique, is one of the finest pieces in the collection of Coptic fabrics. It consists of fragments which were probably assembled in the nineteenth century for the antiquarian market. Of the tapestry we have the middle pane, with three female dancers and one male, personifications of the seasons. The combination of brown and ochre and the motif of the dancers are typical elements of Hellenistic art and Attic ceramics.
