Giovanni Battista Salvi detto "Il Sassoferrato" - inv. 5804

This work is based on the famous altarpiece (now in the Pinacoteca Vaticana, Rome) by Federico Barocci painted between 1582 and 1584 for the Della Rovere Chapel in
the Loreto Sanctuary.
The original painting has been copied several times and another similar work by Sassoferrato, of smaller size, is now in the Louvre.
