Lombard painter 17th century - inv. 297
Restored in 1985, the painting is the portrait of an elderly woman dressed in black and with a black veil on her head. Despite the intensity of the portrait and the pictorial quality of the work, it is difficult to establish the name of the author.
However, to judge by the strong realistic nature of the face, it was probably a Lombard artist working in the fourth decade of the 17th century.
