Drawings Prints and Books
The collection of drawings and prints was donated to the Museum by Riccardo Lampugnani (Milan, 1900-1996). It includes more than six hundred drawings from the 15th to the 20th century, and about a thousand engravings on deposit at the Civica Raccolta di Stampe Achille Bertarelli. The collection has one hundred and eighty architecture and theatrical scenography studies. All the drawings were catalogued thanks to Regione Lombardia and Rotary Milano Ovest.
Use the on-line catalogue of beni culturali della Lombardia and see the 482 drawings by choosing Museo Poldi Pezzoli in the space: "Istituto di Conservazione" and disegno (drawing) in the space: "object".
The antique library has about three thousand and fifty hundred volumes, in part acquired by Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli himself. There are also many philosophy and religion volumes he inherited by his great-uncle abbot Gian Maria Pezzoli. Today the collection is probably the most important private library in Milan, with its four manuscripts, thirty three incunabulums and six hundred and twentythree cinquecentine (16th century editions).
The cinquecentine were catalogued by the Istituto Centrale del Catalogo Unico Nazionale.
